·كان ابراهيم ابن أدهم في إحد البراري ، فمر به جندي ، فسأله عن العمران؟ فأشار إبراهيم إلى المقبرة ، فلطمه الجندي على رأسه ، ثم مضى ، فعلم الجندي أن الذي ضربه هو : ابراهيم بن أدهم ، أعظم العلماء الزاهدين في خرسان فعاد إليه يعتذر منه .
·فقال له هذا العالم الكبير : عندما ضربتني ، دعوتُ لك الجنة ، قال له الجندي : لماذا وأنا قد تسببت في أذاك ؟ قال علمت أني أُوجر على صبري على أذيتك ، فقد نلتُ من أذيتك أجر عظيم ، ولم أرغب في أن يصيبك مني أذاً ، وأنت قد أحسنت إليّ .
·جلس شخص على مائدة ابراهيم ابن أدهم ، ولاحظ أنه لم يسمي الله عند الأكل ، فتبين له أنه غير مسلم ، فطرده عن المائدة ، فرأى في المنام أن الله يكلمه : فقال أنت طردت هذا الكافر أن يطعم معك ، لأنه كافر ، وأنا لم أقطع عنه رزقي منذ خلقتهُ .
·كان خالد ابن الوليد في إحدى معاركه يواجه ثلاث مائة ألف من جيش العدو ، فطلب من الخليفة الصديق المدد : بخمسين ألف فارس ، فأرسل إليه الخليفة رسالة مع الصحابي الجليل القعقاع ابن عمرو ، فلما قابل خالد بن الوليد ، قال له : أين المدد ؟ قال أنا ، فسلم إليه الكتاب . فقرأه فإذا مكتوب فيه : يصلك القعقاع ابن عمرو : ولن يهزم جيش فيه القعقاع .
